This policy applies to all users of WoRide services in Ghana, including riders, drivers, and website
visitors. By using WoRide, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

rights regarding your personal data. We respect and uphold these rights as outlined in this policy.
Information We Collect
1. Information You Provide
When you create an account or use our services, we collect:

- Profile Information: Profile photo (optional), preferences, settings
- Payment Information: Mobile Money numbers, credit/debit card details (stored securely by payment processors)
- Identity Verification (Drivers): Driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance documents, photo ID
- Communications: Messages, feedback, support inquiries, and complaints
2. Information Collected Automatically
When you use WoRide services, we automatically collect:
- Location Data: Real-time GPS location during rides, pickup and drop-off locations
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, ride history, search queries, interaction with the app
- Transaction Data: Ride details, fares, payment methods, dates and times
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, access times, referring URLs
3. Information from Third Parties
- Payment Providers: Transaction confirmations from Mobile Money operators and card processors
- Background Checks (Drivers): Criminal record checks, driving history (with consent)
- Social Media: Profile information if you choose to connect social accounts (currently not implemented)
- Referral Programs: Information from users who refer you to WoRide

How We Share Your Information

With Other Users
- Riders receive: Driver's name, photo, vehicle details, license plate, location, and contact information
- Drivers receive: Rider's name, pickup location, destination, and contact information
- After rides: Both parties can view ride history and provide ratings/reviews
With Service Providers
We share data with third-party service providers who help us operate WoRide:
- Payment Processors: MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, card payment gateways
- Cloud Hosting: Supabase (for database and authentication)
- Mapping Services: For navigation and location features
- SMS Providers: For sending notifications and OTPs
- Analytics Tools: To understand service usage (anonymized where possible)
For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if required to:

Location Data
Collection & Use
Location data is essential for WoRide's core functionality. We collect your precise GPS location when:
- You open the app to set pickup location
- During active rides for navigation and safety
- When drivers are online to match them with nearby riders
Your Control
You can control location sharing through your device settings. However, disabling location access will
prevent you from using ride-hailing features. Background location access is only used during active rides.
Retention
Location data from completed rides is retained for 12 months for safety, support, and legal purposes,
then automatically deleted.
Data Security
WoRide implements industry-standard security measures to protect your personal data:
- Encryption: Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL
- Secure Storage: Personal data is stored in secure, encrypted databases (Supabase)
- Access Controls: Only authorized personnel can access personal data on a need-to-know basis
- Password Protection: User passwords are hashed and salted using bcrypt
- Payment Security: We never store full credit card details; payments are processed by PCI-DSS compliant providers
- Regular Audits: We conduct regular security assessments and updates

Breach Notification: In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information,
we will notify you and the Data Protection Commission of Ghana within 72 hours as required by law.
