What is WoRide?
WoRide is Ghana's innovative ride-hailing platform connecting riders with reliable drivers. We offer affordable, safe, and convenient transportation across major cities, with support for mobile money payments and USSD access for feature phones.

WoRide is currently available in Tarkwa and surrounding areas. We're rapidly expanding to other cities across Ghana. Stay tuned for updates on new locations!
How do I sign up?
Simply visit our website at
www.woride.app, click "Sign Up," and enter your email and password. You'll receive a verification email to activate your account. No phone number or OAuth required!
For Riders
How do I book a ride?
Open the WoRide app, enter your pickup location and destination, select your ride type (Economy, Premium, or Shared), and confirm. You'll see the estimated fare before booking. A driver will be matched to you within minutes.
Can I schedule a ride in advance?
Yes! Our "Schedule Ride" feature allows you to book rides up to 7 days in advance. Perfect for airport trips, early morning meetings, or important appointments.
What's the difference between ride types?
Economy: Affordable rides with standard vehicles (GH₵2.50/km)
Premium: Comfortable rides with newer, high-end vehicles (GH₵4.00/km)
Shared: Split the cost with other riders going your way (GH₵1.50/km)
Can I cancel a ride?
Yes, you can cancel within 2 minutes of booking for free. After that, a small cancellation fee of GH₵5 applies to compensate the driver.
How do I track my ride?
Once a driver accepts your request, you'll see their real-time location on the map. You'll also receive updates via SMS and in-app notifications about their arrival time.
Payments
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept:
• Mobile Money (MTN, Vodafone, AirtelTigo)
• Cash
• Credit/Debit Cards
Mobile Money is the most popular and convenient option!
How do I add Mobile Money to my account?
Go to your Profile → Payment Methods → Add Mobile Money. Enter your phone number and select your network (MTN, Vodafone, or AirtelTigo). You'll receive a prompt on your phone to authorize payments.
Are there any additional fees?
Our base fare includes the ride cost. Additional charges may apply for:
• Airport pickups (+GH₵10)
• Waiting time (GH₵0.50/minute after 3 minutes)
• Toll fees (actual cost)
• Late-night rides 11 PM - 5 AM (+20%)
How do refunds work?
If you're charged incorrectly or experience issues, request a refund within 24 hours. Refunds are processed within 3-5 business days to your original payment method.
Do I need internet to pay with Mobile Money?
No! You can also use USSD codes to pay. Simply dial *920*8# and follow the prompts to complete your payment without internet.
For Drivers
How do I become a WoRide driver?
Visit our
Become a Driver page and complete the application. You'll need a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance, and a clean driving record. Our team will review your application within 48 hours.
How much can I earn as a driver?
Drivers keep 80% of each fare. Average earnings are GH₵300-800 per day depending on hours worked and demand. Peak hours (morning rush, evening) typically yield higher earnings.
What are the vehicle requirements?
• 2010 or newer for Economy, 2016+ for Premium
• 4 doors with working seatbelts
• Valid registration and insurance
• Clean interior and exterior
• Air conditioning (Premium only)
When do I get paid?
Drivers are paid weekly every Monday via Mobile Money for rides completed the previous week. You can also cash out instantly for a small fee of 2%.

What should I do in an emergency?

Can I share my trip with someone?
Yes! Before or during your ride, tap "Share Trip" to send your real-time location and driver details to a trusted contact via SMS or WhatsApp.
How do I report a safety concern?
